On Saturday, August 23, 2003, the weekend of the EARL SCRUGGS, Family and Friends concert in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, banjo setup man Kyle Smith did custom setups in the shop adjacent to the workshop barn.

John Lawless from Acutab Publications taught a beginner session and Jack Hatfield taught an intermediate session.

Three-time National Banjo Champ Gary Davis capped it off with a concert then Jack, Gary, and students jammed.

Later that evening students joined Jack, sitting in at his regular Saturday night gig at Duffey's restaurant in Gatlinburg and had some great burgers and steaks.

The Earl Scruggs concert tickets were included in the workshop fee.
